Today was a double feature of fun Cora-isms on the way to 'school'.
First was the comment I was not expecting quite so soon:
Cora: Daddy - will you teach me how to drive your this car?
Ryan: Lets talk about that in a few more years, ok?
And then, Cora requested this:
Cora: Mommy, can we listen to that music we listened to last week [ed note: everything is "last week" - in this case she means yesterday]
Me: Which one honey?
Cora: The one about "three more ice"
Me: {puzzled} Can you sing some for me
Cora: {sings} Three more ice, three more ice
At that point I realize she is talking about our nursery rhymes CD and the song "Three Blind Mice" LOL
My kids seem to indeed say the darnedest things. I would often post these as Facebook statuses but realized that I should be doing something to save these for later. You know, so I can totally embarrass them in their teen years. I hope you enjoy these, but if not... I know I sure will!

We all know it's going to come. That time when something comes out of our kids' mouths that we KNOW we did not put there. That happened for us tonight. Except I wasn't expecting it to be something good. Cora has started a preschool that is located in a church. It's not affiliated with the church and does not advertise itself as a religious preschool - in fact its a fine arts school (whatever that means for 3 year olds). But tonight as I was listening to her talk herself to sleep with her stuffed animals in bed (yes I still tune in on her monitor from time to time) I heard this:
Cora: God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for this food. Aaaaaaamen. Now we can eat our snack!

As we were getting ready to head out the door this morning - finally starting to get into a routine and a groove with two kiddos now - Cora grabbed her backpack, and had this to say:
Cora: Rock and roll mom. Rock and roll.
Darn straight.

Today on the way home from "school" Ryan and I were asking Cora how her day went. She told us she had a good time and chitter chattered away about all her little friends. Then there was a pause for about a minute, which was followed by this:
Cora: Cuz that's how I roll.
I have GOT to cut back on the TV time....

Today for snack time, Cora got a soft peanut butter cookie. I sat her down with her cookie and some water, and went to make myself a cup of coffee. By the time I came back with my coffee, Cora had run through about half of her cookie - taking large chunks and tearing them into small pea-sized pieces. When I asked what she was doing she told me:
Cora: I don't like big cookies - I like them squishy so I have to make all these pieces.
Me: Well why don't you just make some small pieces, eat them, and then make more?
Cora: No. I have to make the whoooole cookie.
Me: Alrighty then.
Cora: I don't like big cookies. Or thunder.
Um... ok.

Cora started Preschool today (while Milly started 1/2 days at daycare as well - big day for mommy!) When Cora got home today I asked her how her day had gone and if she liked the kids there? Her response:
Cora: Well the boys were kinda mad, but the girls were nice and they shared.

Ever since Milly's arrival, and thus the introduction of breast feeding, Cora has been more focused on "boo boos" as she calls them. Last night as I was tucking Cora in, I asked her - as is our usual custom - what songs she wanted me to sing her. She replied "none". I asked "You don't want any songs at all?" Cora, staring at the ceiling with her thumbs hooked under her armpits simply said "nope". When I asked why, she told me "My boo boos are thinking." ?? "About what," I asked. "About curtains and houses and stuff." Of course. How could I not have known.
